courtyard garden Bristol
Courtyard Garden, Bristol

A design for a warm and inviting small front garden courtyard which acts both as an entrance to the home and a tranquil, intimate space to relax within.

The garden has a sense of arrival; it is the front garden which sets the scene for the house beyond and takes you away from the bustle of the street on the other side of the courtyard door. When you enter the garden you step away from the world and the everyday. The space is designed to evoke a warm, calming and relaxing feeling as you enter home. A transitionary space helping you unwind from the world and step into your own peaceful world.

There is a playful dialogue between movement and pause, focused vistas and moments of opening. The view lines both as you enter off the street and from the house were really important in the design to draw you into the space and bring the outside into the home. View Project…
